Make a Bequest

Thank you for even considering making a bequest to IGAB.

Deciding how you would like your assets to be distributed in the event of your death can be a very difficult and emotional task , but it is one that we should all do, and something we should all review regularly.

If you decide to include a gift to IGAB in your Will we would be honoured to receive it and further honoured to carry out any specific directions you may have in terms of how that gift is spent.

The process itself is fairly easy. All you need to do is have a clause added to your Will. You can bequeath your gift as a specific sum, as a percentage of your estate, or as the residue of your estate.

Standard wording exists for inclusion in Wills, and some examples are below. Your solicitor, if you are using one, may have alternative wording to suggest.

Bequests for general use

‘I bequeath to I Give A Buck Foundation of Australia Ltd (fill in amount of money, percentage or residue of estate, details of property or shares). My bequest is to be used for the general purposes of I Give A Buck Foundation of Australia Ltd and I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or other proper officer shall be a complete discharge of my bequest.’

Bequests for specific purposes

If you want your gift to support a specific aspect of our work, that’s absolutely fine.

‘I bequeath to I Give A Buck Foundation of Australia Ltd (fill in amount of money, percentage or residue of estate, details of property or shares). My bequest is to be used to support the CHAMPS Program. If at the time of my death the program is no longer operating, then my bequest is to be used for the general purposes of I Give A Buck Foundation of Australia Ltd. I declare that the receipt of the Secretary or other proper officer shall be a complete discharge of my bequest.’
