IGAB Champion – Thomas Kenyon
Thomas competed in the Anaconda Augusta Adventure Race – and raised $170 for us in the process – well done Thomas, what an effort!
Thomas set up a Fundraising Page for himself and encouraged friends to sponsor him.
It’s easy (well the fundaising bit is easy, the race is a bit tricky apparently :-)) – check out our Get Involved page to find out more.

A Visit from Breanna
Recently, the QLD office was paid a very special visit – from the beautiful Breanna and her family – showing off the fantastic wheelchair van that you all helped make a reality for this truly special family.
We thought you might like to see a pic or two…
The first pic is of Breanna and her big sister Mickayla and the second is of Breanna, Mickayla, mum Shannan and our own Liat Harrower (on the right) from the IGAB VIC office who was up in QLD on a visit at the time.
Quite the bunch of beautiful girls aren’t they?!

Picnic at Werribee Park
?IGAB launched publicly on 1 November 2009 and to celebrate our 2 year anniversary we invited families to join us at Werribee Park Mansion in VIC for a casual picnic in the magnificent gardens there.
The Melbourne weather wasn’t perfect but at least it stayed dry! Those who were able to come along had a lovely time.
Families were also able to share lots of useful information with each other and it was great to see parents being able to chat with each other knowing that they all knew exactly what each was going through.
It’s definitely something we’d like to keep doing on a regular basis into the future.

Liat & Taylor Harrower – BIG Buckers!
Liat Harrower, IGAB Relationships Manager and a director of the organisation is a mum of four – Rachael 27, Travis 26, Taylor 12 and little Mitchell – who passed away in 2008 at the age of 7 from Niemann-Pick Type C disease.
Taylor and Liat say: “we love what IGAB does, how it does it, and how it allows us to remember our beautiful boy by helping other families who are going through incredibly difficult times.
For the families of a child with a serious or life threatening illnesses, time is the most precious thing in the world – and that time should be spent holding and loving their child, rather than having to privately fundraise to help pay for a vital service or piece of equipment for their child”.
Rachael volunteers for IGAB and Travis has made generous donations to past appeals too…
Breanna’s Car Update
